EMS
The East County Fire Protection District is currently staffed with
Firefighter / Paramedics on its engines to provide our citizens
with Advanced Life Support (ALS). This paramedic service
level includes advanced airway skills, defibrillation, EKG
interpretation and medication therapy just to name a few.
All of our fire suppression personnel are trained to the level of
EMT-D (defibrillator) and Combi-Tube (advanced airway)
certification. Our highly dedicated personnel maintain their
skills and proficiency through regularly scheduled training.
Vial of Life
For our elderly citizens we will be implementing the "Vial Of
Life" program. This will aid the patients who may be unable
to speak for themselves. How does it work? The fire
department will give you the materials necessary to provide your
medical history, medications, physician and any other information
you feel is pertinent. This information is placed on the
door of your refrigerator. In the event that you should have
to access 911 for emergency assistance, the paramedics will know
exactly where to go to find out valuable information about you and
save precious time.
Blood Pressure
Be looking for times and dates for a blood pressure screening
program. Our firefighters are happy to extend an invitation
to our community for a monthly blood pressure screening for
anybody that would like a check. This courtesy is provided
to you by the dedication of our firefighters.

Safety Tips
Water
Children around water MUST be supervised at all times!!! Kids
are curious by nature and will attempt anything if given a chance.
Children that have been left unattended without adult supervision have
unfortunately drowned in pools, bathtubs and as little as a bucket of
water. Lock your pool gates, use floatation devices around
water, remove the pool ladder for the above ground pool and close the
top of your jacuzzi. Never leave your child for even a moment to
answer the phone. That's when the unexpected accident will
happen. Children MUST be supervised at all times around water!
KIDS
- If your cloths catch on fire... STOP, DROP and ROLL!
- Cool a burn with water.
- Don't play with matches.
- Have a fire escape plan with 2 ways out.
- Have a designated meeting place in case of fire.
- Once you're out of the fire, STAY out. Never go back in.
- 911 is the phone number for emergencies.
When to call 911.....
