POSITION
Supervises Fire Engine company personnel, responds to emergency
incidents, performs a variety of administrative, supervisory and technical
work in the provision of Fire District services. Fire Captain Paramedic will
also provide ALS patient care. This position will perform suppression,
rescue and other functions as assigned and works under the general
supervision of the Fire Chief. SALARY AND BENEFITS
Starting annual salary is $ 25,099 for a 56-hour workweek; other
schedules may apply as determined by the Fire Chief. 2%@55 PERS Retirement
plan, with the employees contribution paid by the District. Sick leave is
accrued at 14 hours per month. Uniform allowance of $ 450 annually. Twelve
holidays per year. Paid vacation 1 to 2 years service 144 hours, 3 to 5
years service 168 hours etc. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance allowance
of $ 500 per month. Educational allowance of $ 350 annually is available.
Fire Captain Paramedic will receive a $ 200 monthly incentive and $ 500
annual bonus; in addition the District pays continuing education and
recertification costs.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applications will be closely reviewed for relevant
education, experience and training. Applications
must be detailed
and complete for proper evaluation. |

Failure to
comply with the application procedure may result in immediate
disqualification. |
TESTING PROCESS
|
1. |
Applicants will be scheduled for a written
examination. |
|
2. |
Successful applicants from the written examination will
be scheduled for an assessment center. |
|
3. |
Successful applicants from the assessment center will
be scheduled for an oral interview. |
|
4. |
A Fire Chief’s oral interview will be scheduled.
Qualified applicants will be interviewed individually, in groups of
three as determined by the eligibility list. |

5. |
Those applicants will disabilities needing reasonable
accommodation for any portion of the testing process must notify the
East County Fire Protection District office at least five (5) days in
advance of the testing process. |
